Boudoir photography is a form of intimate portraiture that is rapidly growing in popularity! Just a few years ago, most people I spoke to didn’t know what “boudoir” was, and these days it seems like EVERYBODY follows at least one boudoir photographer on social media! This huge rise in popularity has thousands of people asking “what is the purpose of boudoir photography?” or “why would somebody book a boudoir session?” To be honest with you, there’s not ONE right reason to have a boudoir session!
The first time I booked myself a boudoir session, I was engaged and wanted a bridal boudoir session. Gift giving is one of my favorite love languages. When I was engaged, I KNEW I wanted a wedding gift for my groom that would absolutely blow him away. After looking at a few options, I decided a boudoir album was absolutely the best choice. You should have seen his face when he opened up the perfectly wrapped box and started flipping through the jaw-dropping pages! It was absolutely priceless, and honestly my favorite part of the day.
My clients book boudoir sessions to celebrate special moments in their lives (have you considered booking yourself a birthday boudoir session?) or special people in their lives (is there really a better birthday/anniversary/wedding gift than a book filled with gloriously sexy photos of you??) Some book to reconnect with their bodies after big changes (like gaining or losing weight or having a baby). And some book to reclaim their sensuality after surviving traumatic experiences (because no matter what has happened in your life, your sensuality is YOURS and you deserve to love EVERY part of you.)
At the end of the day, the purpose of a boudoir session is to empower YOU in whatever stage of life you are in right now. I want you to empower you to celebrate yourself.
